Fun with Director and TCP/IP Sockets
Posted a new article on Director Online from Steve Hagenlock. He uses the WinsockQ ActiveX component and the VBScript Xtra to allow Director to create a socket server on a Windows machine. This means you can use it to remotely control the movie over telnet, or build a socket server, like the ones Flash multiuser applications often use.
And it’s easier to do than you think, provided you purchase those two inexpensive 3rd-party products.
