I found this forum post that mentions that Flash will be supported in Safari on the iPhone. This is great. So, now not only will we be able to make Web applications, but Flash applications. It doesn’t matter if the iPhone is “closed” to independent developers as we can make a lot of cool stuff with Web and Flash. I can see a pure HTML Web app suffering from slow connection speeds. But a nice Flash app can get work faster as it doesn’t need to reload the page or contact a server at all to perform basic functions.
