I’ve been a Mac fan since my first Mac back in 1987. Always had Macs, even when I was forced to use something else at work. Now that I run the show, we all use Mac, and we’re all Mac fans. So when searching for a topic for our next big podcast and Web site, Mac and Apple news seemed to be a natural. After all, everyone at CleverMedia tracks Apple news every day, watches Steve Jobs’ keynotes and buys every new Apple product.
MacMost.com is a site that uses a voting system on the front page to let users vote on news and make comments. Behind that is a blog where we can publish our own articles and videos. We’ll be doing a weekly video podcast of news, tutorials and reviews. We’ll also be posting the tutorials separately, and creating a library of them.
The idea is to target the non-geek Mac user. Most of the news sources seemed to be geared toward techies and forgetting that there are a lot of casual Mac users out there who don’t care about the details, they just want to know how to get things done. But I’m sure we’ll cover plenty of geek stories as well, as that’s what we are.
Anyway, check it out at MacMost.com. Vote on the news, leave some comments.

I’ll be the first one…
Why is Engadget posting so much about the Apple TV? I swear they’re getting paid by Apple. Apple is SO over-hyped. Blah, blah, blah…
Anyway, thanks for the coverage.
It seems that Apple TV does not perform well on some SD TVs which should be fixed, because not everyone has bought a HD TV at home.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You have hit the nail precisely on its proverbial head. There are a lot of us “casual” Mac users out there, but there are also a lot of people (like me, for instance), who have only recently decided to take the plunge into the Mac universe. And that’s a scary move. In fact, I think more people might be willing to make the switch if they knew that this kind of resource was out there to help them make the adjustment. Up to now, I’ve been really struggling with how to make certain elements work. Of course, I can get around fine for the most part with everyday business and such, but when I’ve tried to do anything fancy I’ve frequently been stymied and wound up spending painful hours searching the internet for solutions. One of the biggest problems for me personally is learning a new language of sorts. Once you’ve spoken PC long enough, it’s not easy to try to translate into a new tongue (my most recent discovery: .zip files aren’t .zip files in Mac-speak). And they did offer classes when I initially bought my new Mac, but without having had time to play with it, I simply didn’t know where the wholes in my knowledge would be. I will be coming here frequently in the future.

Please target countries and customers who are currently not using Mac for some reasons. Here in our place, for instance, Mac is considered as god-like thing that requires perfectly skilled and highly techie user. Please try to eliminate any false beliefs from potential customers.

As a graphic designer I have always known that one day I was going to have to move to a Mac, but have always been scared about the transition….hence how I found this site. Anyway I must just say that I think I will be visiting you a fair bit now that I just got a brand spanking new power book…wahoo! Its awesome

Here in our workplace, only 2 out of 10 own a Mac. Primary reason why most of us are SCARED of using it is that it requires a highly technical owner. I, for one, is not technical and that disqualifies me to become a Mac owner. But, mind you, we the non-Mac users are very envious of those who can handle a Mac. They seldom encounter any trouble with their system while us, we’re oftentimes late for our deadline because our system crashed.
