A had the chance to check out a cool application made with Director. It is called Beautiful Dorena and is more-or-less a paint program, but with some unique features like the ability to draw using your Web cam as a paint brush. Check it out. Mac only, though.

A note today on Thomas Higgins’ Blog that gives us official word that the Director engineers are working on a Flash 8 Xtra update to Director and Shockwave. Obvious to most, but there are always a few people who think that because it wasn’t released immediately that Macromedia is ignoring it. Can’t wait to be able to use some of the new Flash 8 features in Director cast members.

Finally we get to see the super-secret Nintendo Revolution controller. This is the radically new design that Nintendo will be using for its next-generation console. A story at 1UP.com has all the details. Basically it is a remote-control-shaped device that can report its position. So you can point it, swing it and move it to control things in the game. It also have traditional buttons, but is designed to work with only one hand. You can also add new devices to the end of the controller. And it is wireless. Pretty neat.
